How do I join the Karaoke Idol Contest?
Before each seasonal Contest we will announce the Date it will begin. (You can find the updates in the Lobby @ www.karaokeidol.ning.com) Then you will go register for the Category you would like to compete in. You are allowed to register up to two categories, but you will only be chosen for one.
Can I enter the Karaoke Idol Contest if I have been a past Contestant?
You can enter the Karaoke Idol contest as often as you like, Unless you Win the KI Title and in that case you will have to wait until All Stars to compete again.
How is the winner of Karaoke Idol Determined?
The Winner is determined by the Judges Panel from their scores each week.... Then at the end of the Contest each Judge sends in their secret Vote out of the 5 finalist. (The Bonus points or fan favorite votes do NOT reflect the winner of Karaoke Idol.. it is based on the Judges scores ONLY!)
How many Categories are their in Karaoke Idol?
There are Five Categories which include Country, Pop/RB, Rock and Misc. (The Misc. Category includes any genre that is not categorized in the Country, Pop/RB, or Rock. For Example: Show tunes, Jazz, Classical, Oldies, ect.). Plus the Twist Category which we will go over later).
How will I get my scores each week?
Each Monday Night on a Live Broadcast Show "Karaoke Idol Results Show" The Judges will give their critiques for each Song then after the Result's Shows click "POST" up on the navigation bar and you will find your scores (Please allow up to 24 hours for post after the Results show on Monday Night)
How Many Songs will I turn in each week?
Each Week you will turn in One Personal Song choice and One Judge's choice.
Is there a deadline to submit my songs?
Your personal Song Choice is due each Wednesday afternoon and your Judge's choice is due each Thursday afternoon no later than 6:00 cst.
How Long does the Contest last?
It takes 6 weeks.. depending on Holidays. If a Holiday such as Thanksgiving and Christmas fall in during the Contest we will take that week off.
What is the Twist Category?
The
Twist Category Gives you a second Chance!!! If at anytime during the Contest you are eliminated... You will then go into the twist category. Then the last week of the Contest the Judges will vote one of the Twist Contestants back in to compete with the other four Finalist. You must turn in a song each week by Thursday afternoon... and if you fail to do so.. You will be disqualified.
How Do I submit A Song?
You will find a form on the page of the Category you entered to submit your song. You will copy the url from the recording and paste it to the form (If you do not know how to copy and paste a url recording please refer to the
Demonstration Vidoes)
Where do I record my Songs?
You can record your songs using any website of your choice.. for example:
The Karaoke Channel, Ksolo, Youtube, ect.

Why Do we have Music Directors?
Your Music Directors are here to give advice and help you to better succeed throughout the contest. If you would like help in picking out your song choice, or wanting advise or opinions on a song, Your Music Directors are allowed to do so... as to where your Judges are Not.
Why Do we have Judges?
There is a panel of 12 Judges... Three in each Category that score and critique both songs.The critiques from the Judges are here not to ridicule you... So don't take any critiques personal... take each critique and strive to make each performance better each week. Your scores will reflect on who goes to the next round. Each Song is scored from 1 to 25... 25 being the perfect score.

What is All Stars?
All stars is held Once a year for former Contestants that have Won the title of Karaoke Idol, finalist, and Contestants that have earned extra points such as Bonus points and votes for Fan Favorite.
The All Stars Contestants will be competing for Cash and Prizes.
How do I earn Bonus Points?
You can earn bonus points by singing the bonus song each week, by participating in the Karaoke Idol Spotlight Show challenges, and by the Fan Favorite Votes. (The Bonus Points DO NOT determine the Winner (title) of Karaoke~Idol).
What are Fan Favorite Votes?
Fan Favorite Votes are a great way to get your friends and family involved and To support the Contestants. The Contestants with the most Votes and Bonus points combined will get a spot on one of the Live Broadcast Shows, Plus featured on the Karaoke Idol Network... Plus a chance to compete in the All Stars. (The Fan Favorite Votes DO NOT determine the Winner (title) of Karaoke~Idol).

Are there other Contest Besides the Annual Karaoke~Idol?
Along with our Annual Karaoke~Idol Contest we also have the Video Contest... This Contest is separate from the singing competition... however you can enter both contest if you choose to do so. (You can learn more about the Video Contest through the demonstration Videos).
Do I have to have a Web Cam to compete in the Video Contest?
No you do NOT have to have a web cam to compete in this contest, however it is advisable to have one. There are different programs you can use to make a video... such as manycam.com and webcamMax.com (You can learn more about the Video Contest through the demonstration Videos).

How does the Producer's Challenge work?
Each week the Producer will post a song or songs, which you may enter as many times as you like. Each week there will be A winner chosen for each of the songs, or song by the Producer and the song will be featured on the live broadcast show and on the network. This will also be a bonus song for the Karaoke Idol Contest to earn extra points for Fan Favorite points (It does NOT effect the outcome of the Judges scores or determine your elimination)
How do I enter the weekly Karaoke Challenge Contest?
To enter the Karaoke Challenge.. you should join us in the Chat room by 8:00 cst. if you are going to compete. You need to sign up by Tuesday afternoon... Just go to the Karaoke Challenge page on the Karaoke Idol Network. The Contest starts @ 8:00 cst. each Wednesday night. You may sing Live... or send in a recorded song link. The winner of the Karaoke Challenged is determined by a live Vote at the end of the night's performances (So be sure and invite your friends and family)
How do I sing live for the Karaoke Challenge Contest?
You will need to have a Stickam account by signing up @
www.stickam.com This will give you access to the audio and Cam (You DO NOT have to have a web cam to use this feature) Then after you are signed up with stickam, then join us back in the chat room for the competition.
How do I enter the weekly Contest "Can You Duet Karaoke?
You will need a singing partner of course... there are duet programs on SingSnap & Ksolo, but you can use any program of your choice. You will not be singing Live for this Contest... You will need to submit a link of your recording by going to the Karaoke Idol network under the "Can you duet" tab. Your entries must be turned in by Wednesday afternoon. The Contest will also take place in the Chat room each Thursday night @ 8:00 cst... but will be broadcast live which you can listen to right there in the chat room. After the Contestants Recordings have been played, then we will have a live voting poll to determine the winner. (So be sure and invite your friends and family.)
How do I enter the Contest "Comedy Karaoke"
You can only enter one song per month. You can use audio or video, you can go solo or partner up with as many people as you like. you can sing any song of your choice, you can recreate any song, use any props. The winner will be announced each Month.

What other features does the Karaoke Idol network Offer?
Under the "Other" tab you will find games to play such as: Poker, Texas Hold em, BlackJack, Slots, and Mind Jolt games. Again you can utilize the Blog and forum to post announcements share your music links, open discussions, ect.
What are the Difference in the 2 Chat rooms?

Why cant I use the Audio or Video feature in the Chat Room during the day time hours?
Karaoke Idol has to open a live Stickam Chat in able for the Audio/Cam feature to work. We usually have slow traffic during the day time hours, so until we get a few request that would like to use these features during the day hours... You will only be able to access the text chat. (Hours KI opens the live chat Monday - Sunday 6:00pm central standard time).
What is the Message Box used for?
You can use the Message Box to post a message or post a song link... You can chat on the message board as well.. but we would like for you to utilize the other chats for this purpose.

Do I have to attend the Karaoke Idol Spotlight Show to participate in the Karaoke Idol Contest?
No you do Not have to be present to participate in the karaoke Idol Contest.. but it will give you a chance to earn extra points to go toward your fan favorite points and You will have to be present to qualify. Plus it will keep you all up to date on all the announcements! (Please refer to the Fan Favorite votes in the Karaoke Idol Contest section)
What is the Karaoke Idol Resutls Show?
The Karaoke Idol Results Show is Hosted by: Tiffany with the Judges Panel. The Results show is broadcast Live each Monday night @ 8:00 cst during the annual Karaoke~Idol Contest. (The Karaoke~Idol Result show only broadcast during the season of KI) This is where you will hear the judges give your critiques and Scores...then Tiffany reveals the Contestants that goes on to the next round.
Do I have to attend the Karaoke Idol Results Show to participate
We would like for you attend the Live Results show, but we know that it is not always possible... so if you can not make it please give us notice.
How do I listen to the Live Broadcast Show in the Chat?
At the time of the Show there will be a Blog Talk Radio Button in the
Chat room for the
Spotlight Show and the
Results Show... just click on the button for the show and it will direct you to the widget.
What if I can Not make it to the live broadcast?
If you miss the Live Show then you can listen to the pre-recorded show... which you can find the widget on the side of the Net work Page.
